Calf Rearing Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our agricultural business for a position as a Calf Rearing Manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Increasing the existing number of calf rearing units; • Managing existing calf rearing units and visit the farms on a regular basis; • Implement and monitor the progress of our calves and the key performance indicators for our farmers; • Record and update the systems on the tablet provided. Some IT knowledge and skills required; • Working as part of a team and communicate effectively with farmers and team members.

We are looking for a candidate that:

• Has a hands on approach to work and with a genuine interest in agriculture and calf rearing; • Enthusiastic, organised and a self-starter; • Flexible and willing to travel the Cheshire/Staffordshire area to visit all the units and develop working relationships with our farmers.

ABP Food Group is currently recruiting for the role of an Accountancy Graduate’s. ABP Food Group is one of Europe’s leading privately owned agribusiness organisation. We are the UK and Irelands largest beef processors.

The successful candidate’s will be based in any one of our six sites which are ABP Bandon and ABP Clones, and also our Head Office in Ardee, Co Louth.


  • CPA, ACCA qualification desirable – or a willing to undertake same.
  • Degree qualified graduate - business or accounting
  • Computer literate - Microsoft office - high level skills in excel essential

  • Hardworking and flexible with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Highly organized individual with excellent attention to detail and great accuracy

  • To assist the financial controller in ensuring that the accounting records are properly controlled, reported upon and ensuring that they comply with relevant accounting standards.
  • To support the financial controller in ledgers such as the general ledger, Trade Receivable, Trade Payable ledgers and supporting records, to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • To support and ensure reconciliations are properly prepared and that all reconciling items are cleared within the agreed timescales and to provide any necessary analysis.
  • Participate (as directed) in the performance and on-going enhancements to the daily financial accounting control environment including the performance of specific designated reconciliations, preparation of manual accounting batches etc.
  • Ensure appropriate documented files are maintained and filed for later review by Auditor

Facilities Hygeine Manager

With a long and proud tradition of working with farmers and customers, we operate highly efficient factories supplying quality beef to European and worldwide retail markets.

Hygiene Manager

ABP Bandon is recruiting a Facilities Hygiene Manager for their busy beef processing plant.
Key Responsibilities: • Management of all hygiene facilities at ABP Bandon • Responsible for safe use of chemicals, with an emphasis on training, storage and usage • Management and development of site hygiene team (15-20 people) • Ensuring that the whole site is maintained to the highest standards at all times • Implementing the companies health and safety policy at all times, carry out risk assessments and develop method statements and monitor procedures • Ability to multi-task Requirements: • At least 2 years’ experience in a hygiene management or supervisory role within the food industry (though not necessarily in the beef sector). • Previous experience as a Hygiene Manager or Supervisor managing a team of 10+ people • Computer literate, good general communication skills and a good competency in regards to maintaining accurate and clear records • Ideally will have experience managing workforce planning and working to budgets

Compensations: Competitive salary, based on experience

**This role will require flexibility to working shifts to compliment the production requirements. You will be required to be flexible as this may change and some weekend working may be required from time to time.
